Dr. Stephanie Sellers
Biography
Dr. Stephanie Sellers is the director of the Centre for Cardiovascular Translational Science and Medtech at DCI. She is an assistant professor in UBC’s Division of Cardiology and works with the cardiology divisions at Vancouver General Hospital and St. Paul’s Hospital. She also co-leads DCI’s MedTech Innovation work.
Her training includes vascular physiology at the University of Northern BC and doctoral and postdoctoral studies at UBC, with additional experience in Australia and at Yale. Her research combines molecular biology, pathology, imaging and device assessment to investigate tissue heart valve degeneration, transcatheter valve durability and reintervention. Her group leads an international registry and biobank of removed transcatheter valves. She has received research awards, national and international funding, and editorial appointments in cardiovascular journals.
